Paulina Peavy[muokkaa]

Paulina Peavy (1901 Colorado Springs, Colorado – 1999 Bethesda, Maryland) was an American artist, draftswoman, and alleged UFO contactee.[1]

Peavy studied professional education at Oregon State University from 1919 to 1923, earning a bachelor's degree. She then studied at the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles from 1927 to 1932, graduating with a master's degree. From 1932 to 1942, she was part of the school boards of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Peavy claimed to have encountered a being named Lacamo from another world in 1932 and believed she was channeling its energies through her art. She developed a belief system that included cyclic time, reincarnation, and the idea of human evolution towards a perfect single-gendered state. According to her accounts, she learned the secrets of the universe from Lacamo, which became the themes of her artwork. In addition to painting and drawing, she used sculpture, text, and film as media.[1] She also created "trance masks" to better attune herself to the vibrations of the Lacamo entity.[2]

Peavy's mural The Eternal Supper was part of the 1939 San Francisco Golden Gate International Exposition.[1]
