DiaLux
DiaLux, also known as DIALux, is a leading software for lighting calculation and simulation in valaistussuunnittelu. It was developed by DIAL GmbH in Lüdenscheid since 1994. The GUI-based software allows the creation of numerical results and models of how different lighting setups would look. The software can account for the shapes of spaces, the effects of surfaces and objects, and perform calculations based on these factors.[1][2] DiaLux is freeware.[2]
All major lighting manufacturers provide digital product data for design purposes in DiaLux.[3] There is a specific DiaLux community where user reference projects are particularly noteworthy.[4]
The manufacturer's free DiaLux Free Basic Course[5] offers a good introduction to the software and its functionalities.
